·The road to China’s independence
The 109 years from 1840 to 1949 were the 109 years when China went from weakness to strength and from division to unification.
In 1840, China signed an unequal treaty for the first time.
In 1894, China gradually changed from an independent country to a semi-colonial country.
In 1931, Northeast China was invaded by the Japanese Empire and the puppet Manchukuo was established.
In 1937, when the Anti-Japanese War broke out, China spent eight years and sacrificed 35 million people to fight against the Japanese in China.
In 1946, when the War of Liberation began, it took the Chinese people three years to realize the reunification of the Chinese mainland.
That period of history will be remembered only when China is strong, otherwise, it will disappear into the boundless long river of history. Because weak countries have no history.
In order to realize China’s independence, China has walked this road for 109 years.·中国独立之路
·China’s Centennial Naval Dream
In 1840, the Opium War was the beginning of modern China. Chinese people have realized their backwardness. There is a saying in China that “if you fall behind, you will be beaten”. That’s when it started.
“General, our guns can’t reach the British warships!”

China in the 19th century was so weak that it did not have any power to protect its own country.·
In 1980, Chinese Naval General Liu Huaqing has been invited to see the US aircraft carrier.
Although China was an independent country at the end of the Cold War, it was still very backward. But China at this time is the initial stage of development.
The general stood on tiptoe and looked intently like a child. In front of him is the American aircraft carrier, Kitty Hawk. In order not to reveal military secrets, they asked the Chinese general not to touch anything on the aircraft carrier, but only to see it. No one knows how shocked he was by this visit. Only after returning to China, he said, “China can’t build an aircraft carrier, and I die with my wishes unfulfilled.” 1980年，中国海军上将刘华清被邀请参观美国航空母舰。

Unfortunately, before his death, he did not see the Chinese aircraft carrier heading for the sea.
One year after his death, on October 12, 2012, the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning ship sailed out of Dalian Port Terminal. In the vast sea, the Chinese aircraft carrier appeared for the first time.
On April 26, 2017, China’s first domestic aircraft carrier was officially launched in Dalian.
For 200 years, the Chinese have not given up on this goal, and have been working hard. After the 21st century, China has continuously developed and produced new warships. At this moment, the Chinese can protect themselves.
To develop and consolidate the national coastal defense, the Chinese have walked this road for nearly 200 years.
·What would you do if you had only 8 hours left in your life?
In the last eight hours of his life, Academician Lin Junde asked, even begged, the doctor to allow him to get out of bed and work. Because on his computer, there are still documents related to the lifeline of the country that has not been sorted out.
Lin Junde, an expert on nuclear weapons in China, has been sticking to this field for 52 years. The nuclear weapons developed by the poor Chinese are the most effective weapons that China can not be invaded. We are not the first to use nuclear weapons, but we have nuclear weapons.
The Chinese have walked this road for more than 60 years.
If you stick to one road, you will have an effect. Today in China is the result of several generations’ efforts, not just the work of one generation.·

I don’t think China is strong enough.
We Chinese should not have such mentality.
We should keep working hard and working hard.China today is just rich for foreigners, not powerful. Looking forward to the moment when our country stands on top of the world
Your population stands on top of the world. China is the biggest country in the world.
Right now China is still half FAT. China is still obese. China can only carry as much as America despite being four times bigger than US. That’s not an achievement, that’s a shame. Being only 23% as strong as America pound for pound is a shame.
China has still half a population of poor people. China tells me they lifted 800 million out of poverty. I see 600 million who still need to be saved. You have to save an entire continent’s worth of people. That’s 1.5 times the Europe population, half that of India. That’s half an India to lift out of poverty!
I believe if there’s a party that will deal with that it is CPC. They should continue eradicating poverty.
No, China shouldn’t just be top of the world, they should have a bigger economy than the entire western world combined, twice.
China has twice the entire western worlds population. US has 300m, Europe has 400m, China has 1.4B.
Until then, China should not rest.

Ty Yang, Speak perfect Chinese, born and raised a Chinese
This idea has never come to my mind. China can be strong from some perspectives, but how I see it is that China isn’t strong in a day. I hope people understand that China is and will remain a developing country for the next decades to come. I like what one of the previous Chinese leaders, though I can’t quite recall his/her name, however a number, small as it should be, times 1.5 billion you get a large number, vice versa, however a number large as it should be, when you divide it into 1.5 billion parts, you get something small. I think most of the media are astonished by the large of China’s entity, but if you look really close you see mouths to feed, and although China has put a great ton of effort into poverty alleviation, there is still a lot of them in less-developed places like Tibet can’t even afford for food.
From the perspective of economic size, China is the undisputed second place, and it directly beats the third place: China’s GDP is more than twice that of Japan. But compared with the number one U.S. emperor, China has been slammed by the U.S. emperor: the U.S. emperor’s GDP is much higher than that of China. In the context of the economic crisis and Sino-US trade disputes, it is still quite difficult for China’s GDP to catch up with the United States, and it requires joint efforts by you all. However, if we use purchasing power indicators, China’s economic aggregate has already surpassed the United States.
From a military point of view, China and Russia are both controversial second or third, while the United States is the undisputed first. The US imperialism has an absolute advantage in both the number of nuclear weapons and the number and quality of conventional weapons. In terms of the navy, the U.S.’s advantage is so great that it can single out the whole world! In the air force, the United States was once enough to single out the world, but with China’s efforts in the air force and the emergence and service of the J-20, the myth of the U.S. Air Force is no longer mentioned. The United States will have a smaller advantage in the Army, because the United States does not have national defense pressure, and if it wants to attack some countries, they often do not have any decent counterattack forces. And China, even if compared with Russia, still has some disadvantages in some areas. It is still quite difficult for us to catch up with the goal of United States.
From a technological point of view, the good news is that China is already the leading technological power, but the bad news is that it is not yet a technological power. Although from an incremental point of view, China’s technological development can be described as swift and violent, due to insufficient stock, it has never been able to suppress several traditional technological powers. China’s technological level is still a little vacant: When ZTE was in trouble, the US imperialism could not do anything about the chip supply, exposing my country’s huge shortcomings in the semiconductor field. However, this is also a good thing: it is always better to proactively expose the problem than not knowing the problem exists. After the ZTE issue, the whole country was shocked. China is almost devoting all efforts to the development of semiconductor-related industries. In the past two years, although I still couldn’t fully cope with the discontinuation of confession from the American emperor, compared to the time, it was always a lot harder. I believe that as long as there is another three to five years of development, although it will not be able to compete head-on with the US imperialism, it will no longer be impossible to resist the cut-off of confessions.

When? It was I think after the Hainan island crisis.
Years before I remember the Third Taiwan Strait Crisis
Third Taiwan Strait Crisis – Wikipedia
In short the USN sailed four carrier battle groups around Taiwan.
It was a show of force to Beijing.
China stopped shooting missiles.. Then in the Kosovo war the USA bombed the Chinese embassy as a FU to China murdering 3 people.
United States bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade – Wikipedia
It was another show of force.
The turning point was the Hainan Island incident
Hainan Island incident – Wikipedia
The US government actually had to apologise.
Nothing I can remember comes to mind until 2008 and the Beijing Olympics.
After that USN battle groups didn’t dock in Hong Kong anymore. After that US carriers didn’t do what they did in the 90s. Instead they sit far away instead.
The inability to sit 70km from the Chinese coast shows that something changed considerably.
Peter Zeihan is incredibly bitter about the EP3, mentioned it more than once in his talks. In his world view, the entire Chinese economic miracle is based upon the largess and benevolence of the US, and whole incident is an outrageous affront to China’s benefactor.
Peter Zeihan is a sorry figure. blxered, and incapable of examining global phenomenon from multiple angles and how converging factors interacting with each others that brought about changes in global economy.

Since I was very small, people called Mainland China “strong country”, but this is simply because at the time, Chinese were famous for their misbehaviour and in our heart, we didn’t really think China is a strong country.
Then I started to drop my prejudice about 10 years ago, therefore I started to not call Mainlanders “citizens from strong country”, then a few years ago, I saw and feel the infrastructure of China, from that on, I think China is a strong country, this time this word does not have bad meanings.

In my life time, China has always been strong. I guess I first knew about China when I was about five years old. I guess I would have thought it was strong then. 1977.
Of course it is a great deal stronger now and I have lived there for many years.

Since joining the WTO 2001, economically it became strong. And China’s turning money into military power. It’s already too late to stop it, the China Numba 1 train!
The Trade War isn’t putting a dent in the Chinese economy and it’s only increasing the price of Iphones…
You can make sure when China becomes the strongest you’ll all get your freedoms taken away, that’s for sure. Censored everything. Jail time for writing on Quora. I have to stop the censorship somehow…

China has a LOT of people and a LOT of manufacturing. They have a big economy and a growing military. Thing is they don’t ACT like a strong country… they act like a tinpot dictator with an inferiority complexe who takes great offence at everything and has to throw their weight around and demand respect all the time. A strong country doesn’t do that… a strong country knows it is strong and doesn’t feel diminished by the opinions or comments of others. A strong country can handle criticisms elegantly without striking out. China however does none of this, it acts like a schoolyard bully unsure of their strength and constantly needing to prove themselves.

When China first hosted the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Prior to that, I though that China’s entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001 marked a new beginning for China and it did.
