I always knew Lenovo was Chinese. It was the first thing mentioned when they took over the laptop business from IBM. Never once came close to touching one of their products.

They’re intentionally don’t want you think that they’re Chinese… Motorola which is also owned by Lenovo are Chinese but everyone who has not googled about it thinks it’s still an American company

Lenovo is somewhat sanctioned. Back in mid 2000’s the department of defense banned them because they had spyware on it. Hasnt stopped other agencies from buying them though. With the biggest story being the army buying some laptops a few years ago despite the ban/review.

My PC is Lenovo, my Mobile is Motorola. Bought value mid-range products and they work so well I’ve not had to update for most of a decade. Very solid products.

Besides Lenovo headquartered in USA and registered as a US company. It is no longer a Chinese company although its branch office in China is the largest.

I am working for Lenovo ISG in China. The ISG is one of the business group of Lenovo. It is originally the IBM X86 business. Actually I don’t fell like I am working in a Chinese company.

Lenovo is an interesting ones even the US government is using them. They’re the only ones that’s a Chinese company where they will totally be ok with using them.

US know Lenovo, Oppo, Vivo, Xianmi etc are assemble style companies, they have no threat to American technical hegemony.
Huawei is different, they has hard core tech.

I thought Lenovo was headquartered in Hong Kong. They do have a huge headquarters in the USA.
