Countries who believe that the Fukushima water is not harmful can continue to buy Japanese seafood.
Imagine replacing the country name from Japan to China, and what would be the US and its western allies’ reactions? What an amazing double standard here??? And the Japanese government never ever releases the content of radioactive isotopes in the treated water other than tritium, if their contents are really ‘negligible’, why not invite scientists to monitor and publish the results?
if its safe, Japan can use the water for farming and other agricultural purposes.
Japan can use treated radioactive water to build swimming pools, onsen and lakes for people/ citizens who wants radiant skin. Test it out for next 20 years or more . Only time will tell what is the outcome.
same reason why China, US and French don’t use their nuclear cooling water for farming, you should spend more time in school and less on YouTube.
@TheGardenMG Are the two properties the same? One is just cooling water, and the other is cooling water that has been in contact with nuclear fuel reactors. It’s like one is your bath water and the other is enema water, are they the same?
@TheGardenMG China and US is not a country lacking in water, while Japan is a country lacking in fresh water, which is the difference, Japan is short of fresh water, so why not use these “harmless” water
Two years later • : We have completed the release. We are truly sorry (bows).
Twenty years later : This was something done by people in the past, and it has nothing to do with us now. We are also victims (sobbing).
Fifty years later • : Radioactive wastewater?
What radioactive wastewater? There was no such thing as radioactive wastewater in history!
this release will last for next 30 yrs , wont be completed 2 yrs later
This is so Japanese. True to the point ???
yup just like how their youngsters now forget about the savage acts their ancestors committed in WW2.
Western countries have remained silent. Why aren’t they condemning Japan? If this was done by China, or any other asian countries the whole world would probably be condemning it. This is a classic case of double standards.
The UN should intervene. Pacific Ocean doesn’t belong to Japan. The UN should assign August 24 as “Save Ocean Day” to remind people of the importance of protecting the oceans. Can the UN speak up for Pacific Ocean?
why all environmentalists are silent? because it’s not about China?
Japan is nuclear contaminated water, which is in direct contact with nuclear reactor cores.
Other countries are nuclear wastewater, and there is no direct contact with nuclear reactor cores.
This is the difference between nuclear polluted water and nuclear wastewater.
What angers me the most, is that the Japanese government has increased it’s military budget to 2.1% of its’ GDP, while a fraction of such budget could have gone to fix this disastrous contaminated water instead of releasing into open ocean.
Regardless of whether the government bans seafood from Japan… I am not going to eat another piece of sushi or any seafood from Japan.
I think this is a smart move. I won’t be eating any Japanese seafood for the next several years which is a total bummer.
The IAEA is just a watchdog of the United States. Japan should invite experts from various countries to visit Fukushima. When Chinese experts say that the radiation water is OK, then it is really OK.
Japan should export their seafoods to those countries that they think its safe to buy and eat them as much as posssible for their own health!!
The discharge of nuclear wastewater into the ocean is already a very significant historical event! However, the Western media world lacks popularity, which is too scary.
I wonder if people would react differently if it’s another country that is releasing wastewater.
Japan should use the water for domestic use. BTW, does western led Atomic energy commission or other western agencies have any credibility in the east. Perhaps the sponsoring countries in these agencies should use the discharge for for their domestic supply
totally agree what china did . hopefully other country following .
If the water is so safe why don’t TEPCO executives drink the water and shower in that water?
This is more environmentally damaging than anything else. But protests are hardly heard from the usual climate etc. activists.
Or have I missed it?
No more Sushi for me.
Japan also bribed UN officials overseeing the consent process to dump by Japan.
Why didn’t Japan refill her reservoirs with the water or use it for crop irrigation if it were safe ?
its really a good decision for china to ban seafood from japan perfecture.because is indeed will / had been contaminated.
I don’t understand why people even talking about whether or not it safe or not safe, anyone with half a brain will know it unsafe. It is just like a person pissing into a bucket full of swimming pool water and then dump it into the pool rather than directly pissing into the pool, there are no different.
If the release water is safe dont understand why japanese wear protective gear during inspection??
As this icould affect global population, the UN should hold a vote on this issue.
A lot of unknown things regarding this polluted water long effects. It’ll take decades to get the consequences.
America and europe should buy those radioactive seafoods from Japan for supporting Japan.
If the water is safe, just let all Japanese drink it!
